Lumber Sales Representative

Summary:
Missouri Walnut Group is seeking experienced candidates for our Sales Representative position that will work as a team with sales, logistics, accounting, and management to achieve and exceed the goals for the company. The Sales Representative generates and secures new sales to increase the probability of the company and maintains existing accounts while generating new business through cold calls and following leads. Must be an energetic self-starter with an interest in learning the lumber supply business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Close and grow sales with potential clients in our marketplace.
Manage and interpret customer requirements.
Communicate sales opportunities as well as customer concerns or suggestions.
Identify and resolve customer concerns; recommending a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future.
Coordinates company staff to provide exemplary service to customers.
Expand market awareness of our products and our industry experience by communicating our products and services effectively.
Maintaining records of customer communications and contact information as required within CRM.
Preparing responses to RFP (request for proposals) and RFI (request for information).
Attending and participating in trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
Maintain awareness of pertinent client information, future plans, payment performance; communicate any client information that may affect company decisions to appropriate departments as needed.
Maintain knowledge of competitor products and identify and report intelligence on competitor pricing or marketing strategies.
Submit a variety of sales status reports as required, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
Submit prospective customer engagement plans, schedule client meetings and action plans for follow-up.
Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualification
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid drivers license
Minimum 3 years of sales experience - knowledge of the hardwood lumber industry and grades would be helpful but is not required.
Demonstrated selling experience, working knowledge of sales forecasting and account management.
